NMU golf team completes the fall season

KOHLER, Wis. – Northern Michigan University sophomore golfer Dustin Dishaw shot a one-under par 71 finishing second overall to lead the Wildcats to a fourth-place finish out of 17 teams during the final day of completion at the Kohler Classic at Whistling Straits golf course Tuesday.

Dishaw also was one of five golfers named to the All-Tournament Team and his second round was tied for the lowest score in the tournament. Grand View won the tournament with a team score of 609. The Wildcats shot a two-day combined score of 619.

“It was nice to finish the fall season with movement up the leaderboard after the final round,” said NMU head coach Kyle Wittenbach. “The conditions were very difficult today and Dustin Did a great job by shooting a tournament low 71 today. Its always great to play the Straits Course.”

Dishaw improved his day one score by six strokes to card a 148 for the tournament.

NMU sophomore Emil Lundgren finished in a tie for eighth shooting a 76 during the final day for a two-day score of 153. Wildcat senior Ayrton Mantha shot an 81 on day two for a combined score of 155 finishing in a tie for 17th place.

Seniors Ben Johnson and Alex Palmer rounded out the group carding 166 and 169, respectively.

This marks the last tournament for the fall for the Wildcats who will return to action on March 13-14 at the Battle at the Beach.
