Chassell Strawberry Fest Wrap-up
Thousands once again attended the Chassell Strawberry Festival over the weekend.
The Chassell Lions Club served up yet another successful Strawberry Festival.
There was nothing but sunshine for the onlookers of Saturday’s parade as crowds were treated to strawberry-themed floats and an appearance by this year’s Strawberry Queen.
Other awards given out included the Citizen of the Year that went to Doug Hamar and Kathryne Heikkila was named the Youth Citizen of the Year.
The Outstanding Copper Country Strawberry Growers were Henry and Kathy Ohtonen.
After the parade…a huge crowd gathered at the festival to get a taste of the famous Strawberry Shortcake and to enjoy the activities and the shopping.
Maybe a little fishing too.
