122nd Annual Paul Bietila Tournament
For all you ski fans, tonight marks the 122nd annual ski jump tournament in Ishpeming.
With more than 25 skiers taking part, tonight’s event will be filled with wintertime flair.
An international slate of skiers competing, joined with good weather conditions, should make the event a cool sight to see.
The Ishpeming Ski Club feels a huge sense of accomplishment for the tournament.
President Tom Petersen says the tournament has never missed a year, so it may be one of the oldest continuously-held sports competitions in the U.S. regardless of sport.
The tournament starts at 7 tonight and concludes with fireworks at Suicide Hill.
