A new Prosecuting Attorney and the Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney were appointed for Houghton County

HOUGHTON — On April 1st a new Prosecuting Attorney and the Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney were appointed for Houghton County.

Brittany Bulleit was named the new Prosecuting Attorney and used to hold the Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the past 10 years.

While Jesse Belanger accepted the position of Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and will be taking Mrs. Bulleit’s old position. Mrs. Bulleit hopes to keep making a difference in her community.

“There are good days and bad days as there are in any other job,” explained Brittany Bulleit, Prosecuting Attorney. “I have worked hard to work closely with victims as well as with law enforcement and would like to continue that. I like being back in my community because I feel like I am helping my community.”

Mrs. Bulleit is a graduate of Houghton High School, Depauw University and Michigan State University College of Law.
