Verdicts for CSC Defendants
It’s a busy court day in the U.P., especially for men accused of sexual assault.
It took jurors in Marquette more than 8 hours to find William Griggs guilty of 2nd-degree criminal sexual conduct.
The jury acquitted Griggs of 2 other charges.
But the conviction could put him in prison for up to 15 years.
Griggs will be back in court for sentencing on May 28th.
And in Ontonagon, it’s a not guilty verdict for Stefan Savage.
He was charged with 1st-degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly having sexual contact with a 17-year-old girl.
The jury got the case yesterday, but the jurors didn’t come back with the not-guilty verdict until this morning.
