Meth lab fire lands man in jail for up to 30 years

An Ironwood man will spend up to 30 years in jail on meth–related charges.

Justin Farrsiar, 35, was sentenced to 96 months to 30 years on three felonies on two counts of operating/maintaining a meth lab near a specific place and one count of operating/maintaining a meth lab.  Farrsiar was sentenced as a habitual offender, second offense on those charges.

He was credited for 116 days in jail.

Farrsiar was found guilty of those charges during a week long trial in December.

His co-defendant, Tammy Korpela, 28, was sentenced to 24 months probation and one year in jail, with credit for over a year served.  She pled guilty to one count of attempted operating/maintaining a meth lab in May.

The pair was arrested after a meth lab fire on December 31 at residence on South Mansfield Street in Ironwood.
