One arrested after 7-vehicle accident in Iron Mountain
IRON MOUNTAIN — One person has been arrested following a 7 vehicle accident on US–2 near “H” Street yesterday in Iron Mountain.
A 63–year–old male was traveling north in a white Dodge pickup when he crossed the line into the left turn lane, sideswiping two cars and rear–ending an SUV.
The rear–end collision sent the SUV into 3 other vehicles waiting at a light.
Two drivers were transported to Dickinson County Healthcare System for precautionary measures.
The 63–year–old male was arrested for suspected Operating under the Influence of Drugs.
The suspect’s name is being withheld, pending arraignment.
The incident is still under investigation.
The Iron Mountain Police Department, Iron Mountain Fire Department, and troopers from the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post responded to the scene.
