ISHPEMING — The Feeding America mobile food truck was in Ishpeming on Thursday morning to supply food to the community.

The event was hosted by the Ishpeming Veteran of Foreign Wars and it’s their first mobile food pantry for the summer season.

This event is about helping and feeding those in the community so, all were invited to attend and to bring a sturdy container to carry the food.

“It’s a good thing and leaves you with a good feeling. The people that help out here, they all leave with a good feeling. We have people that come from all over the West End of Marquette County. Today we’re probably feeding over 300 families” said Ishpeming VFW post 4573 member and event coordinator, Tom Lucas.

The VFW is planning on having more food distributions now that the seasons are changing.

Those helping with the event were from CrossBridge Church, Gauthier Insurance, and students from Ishpeming Middle High School.
