Lost hiker found in safe in Ely Township

ELY TOWNSHIP — A lost hiker was found safe Tuesday night in Ely Township.

At 7:00 p.m., Marquette County Central Dispatch received a call from a female, stating that her vehicle was stuck on the Grapevine Trail off of Wolf Lake Road. She told dispatchers that she had been walking for a couple of hours.

The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, along with Search and Rescue, were responded to the call and went to an area approximately 1.5 miles southwest of Brocky Lake. Searchers were able to use the GPS location from the 911 call to locate her.

Officers located 32 year-old Katrina Moe of Appleton, Wisconsin, who was hiking in that area. She was found safe, and no medical attention was needed.
