Marquette County introduces body cameras

MARQUETTE — Marquette county officers are now wearing body cameras. They started using the body cameras regularly this month.

Marquette county’s goal is to be proactive instead of reactive. These body cameras provided by Axon have an audio feature, which can help provide more evidence in case of any accusation against any officer or inmate.

“When you just see a video from a camera in the corner when, something happens it doesn’t give the whole story. When you add in audio to that it definitely makes a big difference and all it would take it one time,” said Greg Zyburt, Sheriff of Marquette County.

One lawsuit can be worth millions of dollars, the body cameras can help with any future liability cases they might have.
