UPDATE: Multiple vehicle accident on U.S. 41
NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP — A multiple vehicle accident briefly slowed down traffic on U.S. 41 on Thursday.
Emergency crews responded to U.S. 41 between the Michigan State Police Negaunee Post and Kassel’s Corner gas station on a report of a personal injury accident around 12:30 P.M. Upon arrival, it was found that a truck with a trailer attached heading westbound, attempted to take a left turn on U.S. 41, the trailer of this vehicle was sticking out into the left passing lane causing an oncoming westbound vehicle to slow down and come to a complete stop.
A third oncoming vehicle then failed to yield behind the stopped car and rear ended the vehicle. No serious injuries were reported in the accident.
Michigan State Police, Negaunee Township Fire, and UPHS EMS assisted on the scene.
