NEGAUNEE — One group in Negaunee will be ringing in the Christmas season this year – literally.

For over eight decades, the Negaunee Male Chorus has been kicking off the Yuletide with a Christmas concert. This year, the long-running show’s theme revolves around Christmas bells. Guest bell-ringers will take part in the show to help the group both raise holiday spirits and money for the local community.

“We do have a trust, if you would, for the local schools. Every year we’re trying to give some money away for the local schools,” said Chorus Vice President Gary Penhale. “Not to mention, I think a lot of people come and start their Christmas time off with our concert.”

Attendees can expect to see some Christmas carol staples in addition to a few new surprises, all sung by a wide range of community members. The show kicks off at the Negaunee High School Auditorium on Saturday, December 10th, at 7:00 p.m.
