U.P. man sentenced to prison after criminal sexual conduct

ALGER COUNTY — A Chatham man found guilty on six charges of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree is now off to prison.

39 year-old Matthew Jaqua was sentenced to 25-40 years in prison this morning in Alger County Circuit Court. Troopers with the Michigan State Police Munising Detachment arrested Jaqua back in February on six counts of criminal sexual conduct.

He was found guilty on all six charges during a bench trial in July. Jaqua was given credit for 225 days already served.
