Beacon House receives large donation from local business

MARQUETTE — The Beacon House in Marquette received a large donation from an old friend earlier today.

Riverside Auto Mall in Marquette donated a grand total of $10,000. Riverside Auto Mall General Manager Paul Halbur says it’s the result of an excellent staff and the people in the U.P. who continue to do business locally.

“$5,000 of it comes from our wonderful partners with Toyota motor sales,” said Riverside Auto Mall General Manager Paul Halbur, “we have cooperated with them over the years and been able to help out a number different local charities. This year knowing that the needs of the Beacon House continue to grow, we matched a $5,000 dollar contribution from us and $5,000 from Toyota to be able to put $10,000 toward being able to help this wonderful organization.”

Beacon House CEO Mary Dowling said that donations like this help them keep up with the ongoing costs of providing the services that they perform.

“Riverside Toyota is a rockstar,” said Beacon House CEO Mary Dowling, “these guys are so amazing. So they’ve (Riverside) always been supportive of the Beacon House from the very beginning. I remember their headquarters being one of our big donors to actually acquire this building and to build the Beacon House.”

Dowling added that donations of any size are always appreciated and go a long way.
