Military veterans and their families are being invited to a veteran’s appreciation event Tuesday – in recognition of the 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance at the Jacobetti Home for Veterans in Marquette.
It will include a short program to honor the service of veterans as well as emergency personnel and volunteers who served in the aftermath of the attacks.
“In 2009, the National Day of Service and Remembrance was established,” Spokesperson for the 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance Lisa Remsburg said. “It’s really to honor the memory of those that were lost on 9/11, and also to honor the bravery and perseverance of those that rose in service in the weeks after 9/11.”
The event is being put together by the Volunteer Coordinators of Marquette County and will be held on Tuesday, September 10 from 1:30–2:30 p.m. at the Jacobetti Home.
It will include refreshments and music by the Marquette Senior High School Orchestra.
