Drunk driver drives into construction hole

One person is in jail after driving into a construction hole in downtown Ishpeming just after midnight Saturday.

The Ishpeming Police Department says the driver was under the influence of alcohol was leaving the Paradise Bar and drove through barricades into a construction hole about 20 feet from the bar.

The driver was not injured in the accident.  The driver is currently in jail, and charges are pending.

No other information has been released at this time.
