Strong winds across Upper Michigan

Strong winds from the north are making parts of the Upper Peninsula feel more like fall than the middle of summer.

Winds are blowing at speeds of 20 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph.  The winds created white caps on Lake Superior and brought in some cooler than average temperatures.

Marquette and Alger Counties have beach hazard statements issued by the National Weather Service due to the high winds until 10 p.m. Tuesday night.
