Bell Hospital to open additional Operating Room

Bell Hospital has received notification from the Department of Community Health in Lansing that it approved the Hospital’s application for a Certificate of Need (CON). The CON allows Bell to outfit and operate a fourth operating room in its state of the art Surgical Center.

“Our surgical volumes have been increasing, due in large part to the talented and caring providers and staff serving our surgical patients. The approval from the State paves the way to offer more convenient scheduling and enhanced access to those services,” stated Barbara Larson, COO of Bell Hospital.

Construction on the new operating room is expected to be complete by the end of June 2013. The cost of the equipment has been graciously supported by the Bell Auxiliary along with funds raised by the Bell Foundation.

Bell Hospital offers a variety of inpatient and outpatient services that include general surgery, along with orthopedic, gynecological, ophthalmologic, urologic, plastic and oral surgical services.
