One injured in Ironwood motorcycle crash
A 49 year old Hurley, Wisconsin man is hospitalized after crashing his motorcycle in Ironwood near the St. Vincent dePaul Store on Aurora Street.
Ironwood Public Safety Officers responded to the incident at about 7:40 p.m. They say the man was transported to Aspirus Grandview Hospital and later transferred to St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth Minnesota by Life Flight.
Police say the man was not wearing a helmet, and alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the accident.
IPSD officers were assisted by Troopers from the Michigan State Police – Wakefield Post, as well as a Michigan State Police accident investigator from the Wakefield Post, Beacon Ambulance and the Hurley Police Department.
The accident remains under investigation.
