Keweenaw Storm fall in national title game
The Keweenaw Storm 19-and-under girls’ hockey team made it to a second national championship game in three years over the weekend.
However, the outcome once again went against them.
The Storm fell to the Chazy Lady Flyers of Chazy, New York, 3-2 in double overtime in San Jose, California Sunday night.
With that result, the Flyers are the USA Hockey Tier II 19-and-under girls’ national champions.
The Storm beat the Flyers in a preliminary round game on Friday.
The Storm also made it to the 16-and-under girls’ national title game in 2011 before falling in overtime.
