“Dancing with the Stars”, Mqt. County Style
Some Marquette County residents are cutting a rug as they practice their dancing skills for a U.P. version of “Dancing with the Stars”.
Eight pairs of local community leaders are taking part in the event, and they’re practicing whenever they can.
Phil Johnson and Chantae Lessard were practicing East Coast swing one afternoon recently.
They’d been hard at work on it for two hours the night before.
Several dance professionals are coaching the various couples, just like on “Dancing with the Stars”.
Each couple has been assigned a different style of dance to learn.
Online voting for the fan favorite is taking place through May 22nd here.
The dance-off takes place on May 23rd at NMU’s Forest Roberts Theatre.
