Fatal Iron County fire
One person has died during an overnight house fire in Iron County.
Michigan State Police from the Iron Mountain Post say it happened at 564 Lind Road in Crystal Falls Township.
Douglas Takala came home from work shortly before 1 a.m. Central time to find that his home was on fire.
He called 911, and the Crystal Falls Fire Department put out the blaze.
Human remains were found inside the house, and police believe they’re the remains of Takala’s wife, 58–year–old Sandra Takala.
The cause of the fire is unknown and still under investigation.
