Ishpeming man enters plea in meth case

An Ishpeming man, who could be facing up to 40 years in prison on methamphetamine charges, was back in court today.

Todd Raymond Wentworth entered a not guilty plea this morning at his arraignment in Marquette County Circuit Court. The 31–year–old is facing one count of Operating or Maintaining a Meth Lab, and one count of Conspiracy to Operate or Maintain a Meth Lab.  Each felony carries a possible 20 year prison sentence.

In early January, Wentworth was the subject of a manhunt in the U–P.  At the time, he was using the surname “Mills.”  He was eventually taken into custody in Ishpeming without incident.

Wentworth is in the Marquette County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.  His next court date is set for June 24 with a trial date set for August 6.
