Baraga treasurer facing embezzlement charge
The Treasurer of the Village of Baraga is facing a felony embezzlement charge.
45-year-old Cynthia Wadaga was arrested Wednesday and arraigned in Baraga District Court yesterday where she was charged with Embezzlement of more than $20,000, but less than 50,000.
If convicted…Wadaga could get up to ten years in prison and/or a $15,000fine.
adaga worked at the First Choice Autobody Shop in L’Anse where police say the money was taken from.
She was released on $500 bond.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for October 23rd.
