Report of altercation ends in arrest

One man ended up in jail and another in the hospital after an altercation early Sunday morning in Marquette County.

Troopers from the Negaunee State Police Post responded to a home on Longyear Drive in Negaunee Township just after 4 a.m.

A 23 year-old Negaunee man had reportedly had gone to the home to talk with a 37 year-old Marquette man concerning an altercation they had the previous evening.

Police say the two argued – and when the younger man drove away, he hit the older man with his pickup truck.

The driver then drove to the Negaunee Post of the Michigan State Police to report the incident.

Police investigated the incident and arrested the driver for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

The injured man was transported to Marquette General Hospital where he was treated for injuries to his left foot and leg.
