A man is being held in the Gogebic County Jail after a stabbing in Ironwood Township on Saturday.

The Gogebic County Sheriff’s Department says it happened at a home shortly after 10:30 Central time Saturday morning.

The suspect is a 38-year-old Ironwood Township man.

He’s being held on $50,000 bond and is awaiting arraignment.

The 52-year-old victim was taken to Aspirus Grand View Hospital and has since been transferred to a hospital in Duluth, Minnesota for further treatment.

He’s said to be in stable condition.

DNR conservation officers, State Police from the Wakefield Post and Ironwood Public Safety were among the personnel that helped sheriff’s deputies at the scene.

No further information is being released at this time.
