Pickford Fire Department Gets $17K Grant

WASHINGTON- The Pickford Volunteer Fire Department will receive $17,366 for operations and safety purposes. The money is from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. The grants will be used to help address specific equipment, training, staffing, and other EMS related needs.

U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow said, “Our firefighters provide invaluable, courageous service to communities like Pickford throughout the Upper Peninsula. They deserve the best training and equipment to perform their duties safely.”

“Our emergency first-responders do so much for us. We should make sure they have our full support, and this grant helps meet our responsibility to them,” said U.S. Senator Carl Levin.
