M-28 Truck-vs.-Pedestrian Victim Improving

An Alger County man is improving after being hit by a truck on M–28 last week.

46–year–old Timothy Hardwick of Christmas has been upgraded from serious condition to fair condition at Marquette General Health System.

He was hit by a truck last Monday morning while walking on M–28 in Chocolay Township near Timber Lane.

Hardwick was walking in the eastbound lane.

He was hit by an eastbound pickup truck driven by 46–year–old Robert Collins of Ishpeming.

Collins was not hurt.

Police say Hardwick, the pedestrian, had been drinking excessively before the accident.

Visibility was also very poor because of the ongoing winter storm.
