Truck-vs.-Pedestrian Accident in Harvey
An Alger County man is at Marquette General Health System tonight after being hit by a truck on M–28 this morning.
State Police from the Negaunee Post say the pedestrian accident happened near Timber Lane in Chocolay Township shortly after 7:30 this morning.
46–year–old Timothy Hardwick of Christmas was walking in the eastbound lane of the highway.
He was hit by an eastbound pickup truck driven by 46–year–old Robert Collins of Ishpeming.
Collins was not hurt.
Police say Hardwick, the pedestrian, had been drinking excessively before the accident.
Visibility was also very poor because of the ongoing winter storm.
Marquette City Police, the Chocolay Township Fire Department and Marquette General EMS helped out at the accident scene.
