Walmart Shoplifting Suspect Turns Herself In
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Department is requesting retail fraud charges against a 27-year-old woman from Rock.
The charges stem from an incident that happened just before 7:30 pm last Friday.
The suspect was caught on video stealing laptop computers from the Walmart in Marquette Township.
After the video was aired by local media, police received several tips, including one from an Escanaba Walmart employee.
Then, on Tuesday, the suspect turned herself in to the Forsyth Township Police Department.
She also brought with her the stolen computers and other electronic devices, possibly stolen from the Escanaba Walmart.
The investigation has been forwarded to the Marquette County Prosecutor’s office for review and authorization of first-degree retail fraud charges.
The case is still under investigation.
