Schoolcraft County Remains Identified

Authorities have identified the remains of a 69-year-old male that were found in what’s left of a deer blind after a fire in Schoolcraft County.

Police say it’s Ralph Clarence Miller of Manistique.

Troopers from the Manistique detachment of the Michigan State Police were dispatched Monday to a reported deer blind fire on public land west off of Flodin Road in Thompson Township.

Miller was hunting with his wife in separate blinds and when he failed to show up as planned, Mrs. Miller went to her husband’s blind.

An autopsy is planned for today at Marquette General Hospital.
