Ishpeming School Board Needs to Make More Cuts

Schools across the state are dealing with budget issues and the Ishpeming School District is no exception.

The district is currently facing a $385,000 deficit.

At a special school board meeting tonight budget cut proposals were made.

At the top of the list was the possible elimination of the Varsity and

Jr Varsity Assistant Coaches.

The board did not make any decisions tonight and it says it won’t until all possible options are weighed.

The next school board meeting is July 13th.

Final budget cuts will be made by August 1st.
