Having healthy employees is vital for any business, but especially for a health care business.
Bell Hospital in Ishpeming is putting that approach to work.
Employees now have a place for a fitness routine.
The hospital held an employee dedication of its new fitness trail today.
The trail isn’t 100% complete yet, but some of the exercise stations are already up.
The nearly 1-mile trail surrounds the hospital’s perimeter, and it’s a way employees can get a workout in before or after work — or even during lunch.
Bell wellness manager Josh Drew says it’ll be available year-round for outdoor recreation.
In-kind and monetary donations built the fitness trail — not Bell funds.
Off-duty employees and community volunteers have worked together on the project on tasks from spreading wood chips to pulling stumps.
The fitness trail will also open to the public in the coming months.
