Teen injured in ORV accident
BURT TOWNSHIP — An ORV Accident in Burt Township resulted in the injury of a downstate girl.
Deputies from the Alger County Sheriff’s Office say the incident happened Sunday around 10:30 a.m. A 13-year-old Kentwood girl was driving a Yamaha Quad Runner when she swiped a tree-top that was hanging over the trail. She lost control of the vehicle and was ejected, suffering injuries to the left side.
The Alger County Sheriff’s Department and EMS were called to the scene. She was transported to UP Health System – Marquette where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released. A 14-year-old passenger from Caledonia suffered no injuries.
