Structure fire in Ishpeming

An old rail car being used as a storage facility caught fire in Ishpeming Friday night.

The Ishpeming Volunteer Fire Department says the fire happened around 9 p.m. at 213 Stone Street.

Thirteen firefighters were dispatched to the scene where the fire was quickly extinguished.  Firefighters spent about an hour putting out the blaze.

No injures were reported.  The fire department says the investigation to the cause of the fire is still ongoing.

The Ishpeming Police Department also assisted at the scene.
