‘Cats complete GLIAC track meet

ASHLAND, Ohio – The Northern Michigan University track and field team wrapped up the 2013 outdoor season with a 12th place finish after Friday’s (May 3) finals at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship.

NMU had three top 10 finishes on the day led by triple jumpers junior Cheyenne Stewart and senior Delaney Lovett. Stewart was fifth with a jump of 36 feet, seven inches and Lovett was sixth, clearing 35 feet, 10.75 inches.

Senior Colby West (1:04.52) scored two points for the ‘Cats on Friday with a seventh place finish in the 400-meter hurdles.

The 4×400 relay team finished 11th with a time of 4:12.62.

The Wildcats scored 16 points at the three-day meet and finished ahead of Ferris State, Michigan Tech and Walsh. Grand Valley won the championship with 220 points.
