Step Forward for Snyder Recall Effort

A group planning to recall Michigan Governor Rick Snyder is one step closer to that goal.

Today the Washtenaw County Board of Election Commissioners voted 2–1 to approve the recall petition language.

This will allow Michigan citizens united to start collecting the more than 800,000 signatures needed to get the recall on the November ballot.

The ballot language says that Snyder should be recalled for supporting sweeping new powers for emergency managers, including the ability to void labor agreements.

It also cites his support for increasing taxes on retirees and low–income workers while substantially cutting business taxes.

The governor still has the ability to file an appeal against the ballot.
