Spring Fest Raises Record Funds

Entering this past weekend, Spring Fest in Ishpeming had raised more and more money for charity every year it had been held, except one.

That exception was last year.

But the carnival is now back on its record–setting pace.

Spring Fest organizer Kurt Kipling was concerned that this would be another down year.

But the carnival raised a record $7,288

Bay cliff health camp, and the Ishpeming fireman’s association, each receive half of that amount.

This was spring fest’s eighth annual edition.

Kipling says many downtown businesses experienced booming sales.

And he says spring fest will return to Ishpeming next year, but the timing still needs to be worked out.

By the way, the carnival is now in Sault Ste. Marie for an event this coming weekend.
