School Superintendent Suspended

A western U.P. school superintendent is being ordered to stay away from his job.

He’s just been suspended, with pay.

Richard Burby is the superintendent of the West Iron County Schools in Iron River.

The school board has suspended him while there’s an investigation going on into some issues involving him that affect the district.

That’s all the information available about the suspension at this point.

West Iron County High School principal Christopher Thomson is serving as acting superintendent.

The school board had Burby turn over his keys to all of the school buildings.

They’re also barring him from entering any school property, or from accessing the district’s computer system.
