Road rage leads to man’s arrest in Iron River

lightsOne man faces a number of charges after a road rage incident in Iron River Monday afternoon.

An Iron County Sheriff’s Department Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle on U.S. 2 after the deputy observed signs of road rage just after 1:30 CST.

The driver did not acknowledge the deputy and sped eastbound down U.S. 2 reaching speeds of up to 60 miles per hour.  The pursuit lasted about 13 miles.

Michigan State Police Troopers deployed stop sticks to halt the vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle is lodged in the Iron County Jail and is charged with following to close, disregarding a stop sign, fleeing/eluding police, driving on a suspended license, and having no proof of insurance.

His name will not be released until arraignment.
