NMU announces 2013 Hall of Fame inductees

MARQUETTE, Mich. – The Northern Michigan University Sports Hall of Fame will induct four new members on Saturday, April 13, 2013 in the Great Lakes Room of the University Center. The dinner and program begins at 7 p.m. and the Sports Hall of Fame ceremony will once again be held in conjunction with the Student-Athlete Awards Banquet.

Caitlin Compton was an All-American in Nordic skiing (2002) and cross country (2000). Ken Godfrey served as NMU’s athletic director from 2003 until his retirement in 2010. Dwight Hoffman was a four-time NCAA National Champion and four-time All-American diver. Lucia (Pereira) Skyiak was a two-time All-American volleyball player (1997-98) and holds the school record for kills per game (4.58).

The public is welcome to attend. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for NMU students and can be purchased at the Superior Dome Ticket Office or by calling 906-226-1032.
