New Houghton Fire Chief Named

When Houghton Fire Chief Jim Lightfoot steps down, his assistant is ready to step up.

The Houghton City Council has named Assistant Fire Chief Mike Reynolds to be the next head for the department.

Lightfoot has served as the city’s fire chief since 1995, but he’s retiring at the end of May.

Reynolds will begin taking on the duties of Fire Chief on April 1st, so he and Lightfoot will hold the position together through the transition process.
