The first full week of the spring season doesn’t really feel like it outside. Maybe it’s the isolated snow flurries, or maybe it’s the frigid January-like air mass. Temperatures made their way from a brutal -15 to -10 start to top off the day in the mid-20s.
Tonight, they’ll drop off again as lows reach the middle and upper single digits. Clouds will thicken throughout the night because of a weak disturbance moving in, and this will keep a chance of light snow in the forecast even until the wee hours of the morning.
Snow chances linger through most of Tuesday as the arctic air mass stays in place. Highs top off in the lower teens, with northwest winds picking up to 10 to 20 miles per hour. This will create wind chills ranging between -10 and 0 during the day. By tomorrow night, arctic air truly makes its presence known. Temps fall between -5 and -10 for overnight lows, with clouds in and out. Winds chills look to be as far low as -20 degrees, so make sure to dress warmly before heading out.
Temps will be cold again Wednesday before a warmup arrives Thursday, but with a much more powerful system and much more snow.
