OREGON, WI — The Marquette Royales will head to the Tier III Junior National Championships next month in Connecticut on a positive note. The Royales defeated the Dells Ducks, 3-2 in overtime, to capture the Busch Cup on Monday.
Royales forward Jeff Salzbrunn scored the game winning goal in OT. Dallas McLaughlin and Lane King were each credited with an assist on the goal. Eric Hewitt had a goal and a assist for the Royales. Forward Dallas McLaughlin finished the game with three points (1G, 2A).
The Ducks out shot the Royales by a 57-27 margin. Royales goalie Walker Enstad stopped 55 shots to get the win in between the pipes.
The Tier III Junior National Championships take place Apr. 3-7 in Simsbury, CT.
