Marquette’s Viitala commits to Northwood

ABC 10 Sports has learned tonight that Marquette senior guard Hunter Viitala has made a verbal commitment to play for Northwood University beginning in the 2015-16 season.

Viitala will be a senior for the Redettes this fall. Hunter is a two-time Upper Peninsula Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association Dream-Team selection. The 5’8″ guard averaged 21.0 ppg last season for Marquette on her way to being named the Great Northern Conference Player of the Year.

Viitala told ABC 10 Sports over the phone that she will most likely be a shooting guard for the Timberwolves.
