Marquette Teen Sexting Investigation

Marquette Police are just wrapping up a month-long investigation into a another crime that is growing across the country.

It’s a sexting case involving young local teenagers.

The 13-and-14-year-olds reportedly sent provocative photos of themselves to other teens.

The Marquette County Prosecutor’s office issued 4 felony juvenile petitions regarding this incident.

Sexting is sending sexually explicit images or messages from a cell phone.

Sending or possessing any sexually explicit material is against the law.

It becomes a felony if the material involves children.

Law enforcement agencies say parents should monitor their children’s phones and computers to prevent this type of activity.

We’ll have more on this tomorrow night here on ABC 10 News Now.
