Gloomy Michigan Job Recovery Picture

On the economic front, some U.S. states are pulling out of the recession much faster than others.

And there’s new information that Michigan is one of the slowest states.

A national economic analysis firm, IHS Global Insight, is predicting when every state will return to the level of employment it had before the recession began.

The two states with the fastest recoveries are North Dakota and Alaska — they’ve already regained all the jobs that they lost.

Eleven more states, including Texas, New York and Pennsylvania, will have to wait until 2013.

Twenty-seven states aren’t expected to regain all their lost jobs until 2017.

However, the researchers say it’s not clear when all of Michigan’s lost jobs will come back.

They only say it’ll happen sometime after 2017.

Nevada and Rhode Island are in the same boat.
