Hancock Home Invasion Arraignments

More charges have been filed in connection with a home invasion in Hancock last week.

Two teenagers have already been charged with stealing a purse from an 84-year-old Hancock woman’s home.

The two subjects, Corey Hansen and Michael Hylton, were charged with home invasion and larceny from a building.

The woman says the pair knocked on her door and asked for a drink of water last week.

When she came back from the kitchen, they were gone, and so was her purse.

Police now report the victim says about a week before the home invasion, an envelope of money was missing from her purse.

The victim had not reported the missing money to the police.

Hancock Police say it was determined that on November 5th, two teenage boys entered the victim’s house while she was sleeping and stole the envelope of money.

One of the suspects was taken into custody by Hancock Police on Monday.

The Houghton County Prosecutor’s Office issued a warrant Tuesday charging Andrew Lee Looper of Hancock with first-degree home invasion and larceny from a building.

Additional warrants may be forthcoming charging the second suspect.
