Flights added on Delta and American

Sawyer International Airport is adding flights on both American Airlines and Delta Air Lines.

American Airlines has announced plans to add a 1:40 p.m. departure to Chicago O’Hare effective June 12, 2013. Two Saturday flights will also be added, providing greater flexibility in scheduling.

Delta Air Lines previously announced plans to add a third daily departure to Detroit effective March 2, 2013.

“We’ve made our case . . . and the airlines have positively responded,” comments Duane DuRay, Airport Manager. “Now it’s up to the community. Ridership and load factors will determine how long we maintain these schedules.”

“Much of Sawyer’s progress can be attributed/credited to those customers who continue to book flights from Sawyer. We thank the community for their support and loyalty in considering Sawyer first before using alternate airports,” states Steve Schenden, Director of Operations.

Delta  will continue with a daily departure at 6:15 a.m. with an arrival scheduled daily at    4:58 p.m.  Sunday through Friday, Delta will have arrivals at 11:26 am and 9:39 p.m., with departures set Sunday through Friday at 11:50 a.m. and 5:23 p.m.

American has the Sunday-Friday schedule of 8 a.m. and 1:40 p.m departures, with arrivals at 1:10 p.m. and 9:10 p.m. arrivals.  Saturday, American has departures at 12:30 and 3:10 p.m. planned, along with arrivals at noon and 2:40 p.m.
