Lady Huskies fall in Hillsdale

HILLSDALE, Mich. – Seniors Lindsey Lindstrom and Lynn Giesler each scored 22 points for the No. 25 Michigan Tech women’s basketball team in a 82-77 GLIAC loss at Hillsdale Saturday (Jan. 28).
Lindstrom also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out eight assists for the Huskies who fall to 13-5 overall and 8-4 in the league.
“We cant give up 82 points and expect to win,” said head coach Kim Cameron.
The Huskies had a chance to win the game but couldn’t convert at the end.
Angela Bisaro scored in the paint with two minutes remaining to give Hillsdale a 78-77 lead. The Huskies were unable to convert on their next two possessions.
Tech was forced to foul with 27 seconds remaining. Lea Jones, who finished with a team-high 22 points, missed the first free throw with the Huskies grabbing the rebound. Hillsdale recorded a steal on Tech’s ensuing possession.
The Chargers made their final four free throws for the win.
Tech finished with a 35-32 advantage in rebounds.
The Huskies struggled at the free throw line shooting just 67-percent (14-21) compared to 86-percent (19-22) by the Chargers.
Tech will host Findlay Thursday (Feb. 2).
